Whether you are planning a small intimate wedding or a grand affair, our dedicated weddings team is on hand to help create your perfect day, right down to the last detail.
Our beautiful venue with its warm ambiance and stylish décor provides a relaxed yet sophisticated space for your celebration.
The Merchant’s Yard has a range of venue hire options available, from our top floor private dining room accommodating up to 26 guests, to our event space seating up to 70 guests for a wedding breakfast and larger numbers for an evening reception and buffet.
We can also offer exclusive venue hire.
Your Ceremony

Whether you are planning a civil ceremony, civil partnership or a blessing, we can help. We are a fully licensed venue and our expert weddings team is on hand to assist, ensuring every detail of your special day is planned just as you imagine it.
We are licensed by the local authority for civil ceremonies of up to 70 guests, meaning you can hold both your ceremony and reception here at the venue.
For civil ceremonies you will need to arrange your desired date and time directly with the local registrar. Please contact Bakewell Registry Office on 01629 535261 or bakewell.registrars@derbyshire.gov.uk.

Our Boutique Rooms
The perfect finish to your special day, unwind with a stay in one of our boutique bedrooms, each of which has been sympathetically created as a natural extension of our much-loved restaurant, offering the ultimate blend of comfort and style.
Relax and bask in newlywed bliss from the comfort of a king-size bed with spacious ensuite bathroom, smart TV and mini fridge. We have eight luxury bedrooms, offering your loved ones the opportunity to enjoy a fabulous stay as well.
The following day, after a freshly cooked breakfast, take the opportunity to amble around our quaint village, discover nearby gems like Chatsworth House, or experience breath-taking views with a walk through The Peak District.
